Magnetic powder brakes

The brake has a control characteristic similar to that of a hysteresis brake and should be controlled steplessly using the exciting current.

Characteristic areas of application:

The magnetic particles arrange themselves along the magnetic field lines, thereby forming long particle chains. These increase the internal friction and thus generate the desired torque between the rotor and the stator. When the coil current is switched off, the particles arrange themselves on the inner side of the stator due to the centrifugal force of the rotor.
